Discover Rock Park in Sparks, Nevada

Take Rock Boulevard south from Interstate 80 or Victorian Avenue, and you’ll reach Rock Park, situated on the Truckee River banks. The nearby fast-moving Truckee River and the well-planned infrastructure along its banks contribute to the area’s attractiveness. Parking is not an issue, and there is plenty of grassy space to play on. There is a restroom building, a grilling area, and playground equipment for the kids

The paved walking/cycling trail, complete with fitness stations, stretches eastward nearly to the encircling hills and westward through the heart of Reno and beyond. More people can now enjoy the river thanks to the efforts of the City of Sparks to create eco-friendly recreational opportunities, such as two accessible entry points for the disabled.

Rock Park Hosts special activities

Some of the relaxing things to do in the park are sunbathing, wading, picnicking, reading a book beneath a tree, and taking a leisurely stroll. More energetic visitors can go jogging, cycling, kayaking, tubing, or rafting.

Multiple festivals and other events may be found in Rock Park.

Thursday, June 23, from 5 to 8 p.m., Rock Park (1515 S. Rock Blvd. ) will host the first event in the City of Sparks’ Hello Summer Celebration series, titled Rockin’ on the River. Cornhole, freebies, job fairs, food from various food trucks, and more will all be available at the free event, featuring live music from local favorites Rick Hays & American Steel. 

Finding a way to Rock Park

Rock Park has a parking lot for its visitors. In addition, from the southwest parking lot of Baldini’s Sports Casino. Bring your blankets and folding chairs for a family picnic! Parks are dry zones where alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The distance between Wonder Web Development and Rock Park is 11.3 miles. Additionally, if you’re looking for a popular destination you might know, look for the Grand Sierra Resort. The distance between Rock Park and LEX Nightclub is just 1.2 miles (1.1 miles). Easy right?

Rafting the Truckee River in Reno

Whitewater rafters can use Reno as a fantastic home base. It’s near the Truckee and Carson rivers, where you can do whitewater rafting or kayaking. Wilder rapids (class 3 and 4) can be found on the Truckee River, and one of the most popular routes is from Boca to Verdi, located near Reno.
